Plant Medicine
Teachers and Healers
Since the beginning of mankind, plants have been used as sacred medicines to heal the mind, body and spirit. Dating back 5,000 years we see the written record of plants and their uses, first with the Sumerians and then the Egyptians who had an extensive list of over 800 recorded plant medicines.
Traditionally in ancient cultures there was a member of the village/community known as a shaman or medicine man. This person practiced the ancient art of healing with plants and believed that each plant had a unique spririt that could be communicated with. At New Life Iboga, we believe this tot be true. Through our work with both iboga and ayahuasca we have felt the presence and personality of both spirits and we have seen what incredible potential both of these unique plant medicines are capable of.
Ibogaine and ayahausca have each been used in ceremonies for thousands of years. Each plant medicine has a set of traditions and ceremonial practices that surround their use. At New Life Ayahuasca, we strive to respect these traditions and provide as authentic an environment as possible when consuming these medicines. Learn more about the similarities and differences of ibogaine and ayahuasca.
